One of our sites is preparing for NAEYC accreditation and I've been spending a lot (this feels like an understatement) of time at the site helping the classrooms on their journey through the process.
I was at the site this weekend and we noticed the covers on the stools in the writing area were getting a little gross with marker and pen (and boogers, etc). The teacher had washed them at home and that did the trick for a little while, but it wasn't a solution. So I'm standing there staring at her stuff and I ask if she's considered dying them.... In the process, I gained a project.
I stopped by JoAnn Fabrics and picked out what I considered to be a child-friendly color (olive) and came home to get started!
Yeah, they were pretty dingy.
$3.79 and 15% off for bein' a teacher....everyone in education needs to take advantage of this discount!
So far, so good!!! This was my first time experimenting with the process, but I had seen my mom do this many times while I was growing up... Can't be that hard, right? Right. Easy to do and now the covers are hanging to dry! I will be delivering them tomorrow so the kids can continue their adventures in the writing center!!
Cute, right!? Now I'm wondering what else I can dye.
