The audacious notion of hope

I have come to realize that my life now centers around the audacious notion of hope.  Negative attitudes suck and get us no where, I know this.  I try to stay positive.  Sadly, at times, I even try not to hope.  Hope gets me just about as far as a shitty attitude.  There's a science to this dance that I'm just not understanding. Though for those of you who have known me for a while know that I have never had a good grasp on science.  I got through advanced physics and am pleased to be done with such coursework. There's just something soul-wrenching in the repeated action of building up hope, peeing on a stick, and watching carefully as only one line appears on that stupid mother fucking test.   I get to be a little salty, I think I deserve that much, so go ahead and save your bullshit comments pointing out that swearing makes me sound uneducated.  I'm probably more educated than you and I love the word fuck.  It's a great word and right now...

Wordless Wednesday: House of ___

Saying goodbye to Barnaby Jones

Oh my darlings, it is with great sadness that I share the passing of our beloved Barnaby Jones.  After many years together, he has gone to plant heaven. It's a sad day in Los Porchs' house. We'll remember all the good times we had together. Like every time he stabbed me when I watered him. Sigh. We're taking some time before we add a new member to our family.  Dick isn't the friendliest creature I've ever met & I don't want to deal with the barren pot until the weather is officially warm. Thank you for your love and support during this very difficult time. xoxo

Let's go camping!!

There are few things that amaze me more than Amazon and the speed at which they can ship the fun and amazing things we purchase.  As we sat at the car dealership on Saturday, we placed our order for the tent we had been eyeballing and had put in our cart last weekend after a trip to Target got us thinking about bigger and better tents. The idealized version of camping. Our version includes a bigger cooler, more beer, and less children. Also less matching khaki. via Amazon via Amazon Imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I got an email tonight from Amazon letting me know that the tent had shipped and it'll arrive tomorrow!  Amazing!  And I didn't even have to pay shipping.  Okay, I'm excited.  Perhaps a little too excited since our first official trip isn't until June.  We might have to look into more trips this summer/fall!  See that screen porch?  Yeah, it's pretty sexy.  And the tent has 2 rooms and a center height of 6'10". ...

Wordless Wednesday: GoT Drinking Game

30 is the new 21

Okay, maybe it's not and if I can be serious for a moment, I don't think I want to be 21 again. Like, ever. That being said, my newest pet peeve in the infertility game is this wonderful line... "Ms. Danielle, you're gonna be such a good mom.  Aren't you ever gonna have kids?" Imma stop you right there -- I'm 29.  Granted, the odds aren't exactly in my favor, but I'm certainly not going through menopause again anytime soon.  Again, you ask?  Indeed.  Read more about my traumatic near-death experience here .  I think it's important to remember that I'm only 29 and it's not like I've been sittin' on my ass doing nothing.  I've got 24 kids that I'm responsible for every day... and I get to send them home at the end of the day. And really?  Unless you're prepared to be with me every time I have to pull my shit back together after a negative pregnancy test, maybe just don't say anything at all. I found thi...
